Frank Henry COOK was born 2-Mar-1915 in Chevening, Kent [B-Cert] to Frank Stanley COOK & Mary Ann Franklin BAYLISS.

On 7 9-Sep-1939 he married Frances Mary STARKEY in Chevening, Kent [M-Cert].

Frank & Frances had one son Christopher Frank b. 20-Jul-1940 (my father).

Frank was a Pilot Officer #87387 with 99 Squadron RAF Volunteer Reserve. Sadly Frank was lost in action during WWII with his death being recorded as 21-Apr-1941. He was stationed at Waterbeach in Cambridgeshire. On 20-Apr-1941 he was part of a crew of Wellington T2997 that took off at 2047hrs accompanied by Wellington MkII W5400 on a bombing run to Cologne. The aircraft failed to return with no communication from time of take off. (Information extracted by Martin Bond). The Wellington is reported to have collided with a barrage balloon over Harwich Harbour, burst into flames and crashed 0120 in the sea 3000 yards off the shore, bearing 125 degrees from Landguard, Felixstowe, Suffolk.
